It was 2 am and something sparkled beneath a bunch of junk in an abandoned shopping cart on the side of the road. Being a bit of a magpie I had to unearth the glittering thing. It appeared to be a small pink Christmas tree and I was overjoyed because I had recently decided that pink should be the colour of our tree this year. I dug further into the treasure heap and found another half to the tree; more digging revealed its little pink stand. At home I assembled it (it’s about 6ft tall) then put “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on the CD player, poured myself a glass of pink champagne (what else?) and sipped and toasted while decorating. O Tannenbaum Rose!
